I wish Balthis was at Clintwood. I think he would fit seemlessly into the team.

I'll play this synopsis game too.

Clintwood--Honestly feel they over-achieved early, slumped late and hopefully fixed it. Knowing the game was against Pound, the team concept seemed to be back much more than it had been the previous weeks, even in some of the wins. Defensively, if they work together can be scary, the offense is hit or miss. I kind of think that they have been too conservative at times and that may have hindered the attitude. Can be tough.

Powell Valley--overated IMO at the beginning of the year. Phil put the bullseye on them with the comment of 10-0. Didn't see the gamebreakers on the team, but they can be solid. Probably a team that needs to play conservative and keep games low scoring. Don't feel like they are that good, but maybe better than we think due to their schedule. The last win over Appy did not build confidence as I thought Appy would roll over after last weeks game vs Kelly.

Norton--Dangerous team due to their defense, more than Miles on the offense. The defense can outscore other teams defense. Depth on the lines helps them a lot. Quarterback play is going to be a key come playoff time, but with Miles and a good dose of experience, they are going to be tough due to the big play capability.

Kelly--Better than expected by most. Seemed to have jelled as the season has went on. Another team that is probably better to keep the game low scoring (everybody but Norton is probably this way). Physical team that seems to able to keep their players fresh with a bit of rotation. Probably playing the best ball of anybody right now, but will the week off hurt the momentum.

Appy--A solid team that appears to lack an identity. Seemed to be on the cusp several times this year but never seemed to be able to make that one play they needed. Definitely improved as a team from last year, but seem to be getting away from what made them Appalachia.

Pound--Probably plays as hard as anybody but goes into most situations down due to coaching. Some good people as coaches but not sure that the experience is there and it costs them in preperation and game plan. Better shape than the previous years, which is a good start.

I just think that the LPD as a whole was a lot closer in level. Don't feel that anybody is great but also feel like the competition may help them later. Most everybody has had to play some close games.
